The Sands Point Preserve is seeking a part-time educator to assist in the development, coordination and implementation of a variety of programs.
Responsibilities:
Teach programs for visiting school, scout, and camp groups.
Work with the Education Director to develop STEM curriculum around the Preserve’s new Navy Simulation Museum, including school programs, scout programs and family workshops.
Teach and assist with weekly after school classes.
Work with Education Director to develop additional outdoor education curriculum for visiting schools and scouts, as well as public workshops.
Schedule and coordinate existing public education programs.
Assist with other Preserve events as needed.
Schedule:
Wednesday – Friday with evenings and weekends as needed (1-4 evenings and weekends per month). 15 – 24 hours a week.
Requirements:
BA in education
Experience developing curriculum and teaching programs
Experience working with diverse populations of elementary and secondary aged children
Secondary STEM experience a must, outdoor education experience a plus
