Operations Admin Assistant — Carissa’s Bakery 221 Pantigo Road

Location: East Hampton, NY
Employment Type: Part-Time, with opportunity for increased hours
Schedule: Weekdays to start; hours will increase seasonally

About the Role

Carissa’s is seeking an exceptionally organized, capable, and systems-minded Operations Assistant to support the General Manager and help keep our Pantigo Road location organized and running consistently.

This is an opportunity to learn how a growing hospitality operation works from the inside out. You’ll work alongside the General Manager, supporting the systems, organization, administrative work, inventory, facilities, and recurring tasks that keep the operation moving.

Prior restaurant or bakery experience is not required. While this role works within a bakery and restaurant group, we are primarily looking for someone who is smart, organized, proactive, comfortable with technology, and eager to learn. Experience in administration, retail, office coordination, project support, or another organized environment can translate very well to this position.

The role will begin part-time and primarily on weekdays. As we enter our peak summer season, there will be opportunities for additional hours and increased responsibility.

For the right person, there is meaningful room to grow. Our goal is for a strong Operations Assistant to develop into an Operations Coordinator as they learn the operation, demonstrate ownership, and take on greater responsibility. From there, there may be opportunities to continue growing into management or other areas of the company. Someone interested in expanding their skill set may also have the opportunity to learn areas such as payroll, HR, scheduling, and other aspects of operations.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the General Manager, responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain operational checklists and help ensure recurring tasks are completed and followed through.

  • Support inventory, ordering, receiving, and organization of supplies and storage areas.

  • Help maintain accurate inventory records and improve systems for tracking and organizing supplies.

  • Track facilities and maintenance needs, coordinate service and repairs, and follow outstanding items through completion.

  • Assist with administrative needs, including scheduling, Toast POS updates, filing, recordkeeping, and other operational systems.

  • Help keep information, systems, and day-to-day priorities organized and moving forward.

  • Identify opportunities to make existing processes more organized, efficient, and easier for the team to follow.

  • Support seasonal transitions, special projects, and other operational needs as they arise.

Who We’re Looking For

The right person is:

  • Exceptionally organized, reliable, and attentive to detail.

  • Smart, resourceful, and quick to learn.

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented—you notice what needs attention and follow it through.

  • Comfortable with technology, systems, and managing multiple priorities.

  • Curious about how an operation works and interested in finding ways to make it better.

  • Adaptable, clear in their communication, and simply a nice person to work with.

Hospitality or restaurant experience is not required. We are more interested in excellent organization, good judgment, curiosity, reliability, and strong follow-through. We can teach the specifics of our operation to the right person.

Growth Opportunity

We see this as a role someone can grow with rather than simply a part-time administrative position. A successful Operations Assistant will gradually take ownership of more systems and responsibilities, with the opportunity to grow into an Operations Coordinator role. From there, continued growth may include management-level responsibilities or developing skills in areas such as payroll, HR, scheduling, systems, and broader operations.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn how to run a business, understand where processes can be improved, and help us build better systems as the company grows.

Your work makes the operation more organized, efficient, and easier for everyone.
